Interesting reading, grazie! I think old and rural Italian food culture is a precious heritage, probably one of the most precious and almost totally forgotten. Avanti così :)

This is such a great read! Give us more mediaeval stories and foods, please. As we hospice modernity and shift towards something else (whether we want to or not, we *know* it's going down, eh?), we need fortifying and genuine food. If it makes us holy too - maybe we'll get that illuminated glow from the inside and be able to chuck out all this daft serums and creams we've become addicted to! Seriously, this was brilliant.

🥰 another sali. I. “Going medieval”. These gals knew how to homestead and be the boss of their (enclosed) gardens. Lots of lessons for us, too.

This is also fun insight into Pre-colombis exchange European foods.

Absolutely agree. As much as I love chocolate, coffee, and all things tomato and eggplant, I’m a little of a sucker for pre-1492 European gastronomies

XD who's to say what's too medicinal ? A very holy pumpkin spice (less pumpkin, more spice)

You might like my homeground morning masala chai mix. For some of us, medicinal is where the thrill is, eh?
