#3 Dispatches from a place: Finding Japan on the Tagus River
A special day discovering the Japanese side of Lisbon
In this #3 Dispatch, I tell you about an untypical day in Europe. I went to a museum, ate a Japanese sandwich with a revolutionary Kid, browsed the menu of a popular Japanese eatery, and dined finely at an upscale Japanese restaurant.
We are in Lisbon to eat Japanese food, from fine dining to cool sushi to homely food. We also tap into an Oriental History and Art Museum and visit one popular eatery that is not Japanese but is the epitome of fusion g cultures and food - in a sandwich format.
We go to Crack Kids, Sakemiko, Mattë, Caza Portuguesa do Chá, Ryoshi, and Praia no Parque. And we travel back in time to Katsutera.
This post belongs to the series #Dispatches from a place where I tell you stories of gastronomic relevance from a personal angle. These posts are paywalled, but you can contribute to this project and read many exciting stuff!
Because I’m talking about actual places and actual food, I’ve decided that these posts will be paid for.
Behind the paywall, there will be many places I go, food, and bottles I drink. Of course, there will be people, places, emotions, feelings, and culture.
If you are inclined, you can support this publication and access all of it.
If not, you’ll still have access to all cultural musings.
Here we go!
